Wine List 2010

21 February 2010

Future Malbec ?

Soooo many choices!! We have been meeting with our very knowledgeable sales representatives in search of the finest wines! Please understand, this is really tough duty!

Cabernet? Merlot? Pinot Noir? Perhaps a change in the white wine line up? Something in a fresh, grassy Sauvignon Blanc?

Consideration must be given to wine glasses. Shall we break new ground with stemless? Comparing each possibility from all our favorite equipment
providers is a conversation of its own!

Fear not! Dear customers, friends and fly fishers! We will do our very best to taste every offering, try every piece of stemware and otherwise approve the very finest wines for your enjoyment! We will offer no wine before it’s time!

Remod 2010

16 February 2010

That’s my boy! Isaac has always enjoyed any project at hand!! Loves tools and is creative in just about any medium! Well Isaac, you’ve had a shot at sawing up rocks. How was it?
The remod crew is slinging paint, building booths, laying new flooring and generally trashing the place!! As is to be expected in these situations! Yes, it will all go back together in time for Easter. Spring will come, bugs will hatch, fish will rise and Izaak’s will be open again! See you there!

Heckert’s on holiday!

Time for a little R & R in the big city of Missoula! The Fly Fishing Film Festival at the historic Wilma Theater; Nice! Always great to see so many of our good friends in one place celebrating their passion! Dinner on Saturday at The Redbird. Delightful! Thai, fresh bagels, espresso on every corner!! We took in the Wilco concert on Sunday to round out the weekend! Great way to do research for the upcoming season!

Ahhh! February

January always seems like such a long month to me. Usually cold and snowy, short days, all that. Arriving at the first turn of the new calendar’s page, I am energized!! No, I don’t dress up as the Energizer Bunny, but I will if it helps the rest of you!! Winter in the canyon can be long and dull, or perhaps brief and truly restful.Really is just a state of mind.
Get OUT of the house and join us at Izaak’s tonight; 6 PM for the first BBQ Cook-off Committee meeting. We’ll be discussing all the details of what is fast becoming a very popular event! See you there!
